One of the most beautiful towns on the island of Mallorca is Alcúdia. It’s a town known for its natural charm, but also for its culture and history. When you visit the town, you’ll fall in love with its old town, as well as its city walls. To help you make the most of this town, we’re going to show you a detailed route that you can get a lot out of.

ToggleHow can I get to Alcúdia?
Alcúdia can be reached by various means of transportation. The vast majority of tourists rent a car on the island to get to the town. This town is located 60 km from Palma de Mallorca. To get there, take the MA-13 motorway and you’ll quickly see the turnoff to the town.
Another option is to take public transportation. In this case, you can take lines 351 and 352. As for the journey time, it usually takes about an hour and a half.
Some tourists take the opportunity to go by bike. The journey offers truly beautiful paths, although the route is quite long.
Is it easy to park in Alcúdia?
Because the town is visited by many tourists, you can find a wide variety of free parking lots in the village. All are well signposted, so you won’t have any trouble finding them. The closest to the center are the Ca Na Pila and Sa Talaia parking lots, although there are more options to choose from.
What to see in Alcúdia in one day
To enjoy Alcúdia, I recommend starting your visit in the morning. You can take advantage of the morning to visit the following destinations and start enjoying it to the fullest.
- Medieval Walls: Visiting the walls is usually the first thing people do. To enter, I recommend entering through the San Sebastián Gate. From there, it’s very easy to explore the medieval walls, which were built in the 14th century. From the walls, you can enjoy beautiful views.
- Church of San Jaime: Located in the old town, it stands out for its beautiful 13th-century Gothic church.
- Traditional Alcúdia Market: Visiting the traditional market will allow you to enjoy crafts, clothing, and local products. The market is open on Tuesdays and Sundays, so I recommend visiting the town on those two days.
Take advantage of midday to eat and recharge your batteries to continue enjoying the town to the fullest for the rest of the day. In the center of Alcudia, you’ll find a large number of restaurants where you can enjoy typical local food.
When choosing a restaurant, you can opt for Can Costa, one of the best-known and most highly reviewed in the town. You can also opt for other options such as Sa Portassa, where tapas are the star.
After you’ve recharged your batteries, you can enjoy more sightseeing around the town. You can take advantage of the afternoon to visit the following:
- Roman City of Pollentia: You can start the afternoon by visiting the ruins of Pollentia, an ancient Roman city. There are still many remains that will allow you to easily travel back in time.
- Pollentia Monographic Museum: Located near the historic center. Inside, you can see a large number of Roman remains and better understand how people lived in the area.
- Alcúdia Seafront and Port: Ending the evening on Alcúdia’s seafront is a great option. In the area, you can enjoy great views and relax in one of its bars or restaurants.
- Sunset at La Victoria: To end the day, you can enjoy the Sanctuary of La Victoria. It’s a bit far from town, about 7 km, but in return, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking sunset. From there, you can enjoy beautiful views of the sea as the sun sets. It’s a peaceful place, although it’s true that more and more tourists are visiting at sunset to enjoy its beauty. Even so, it’s still worth it.
To recharge your batteries, I recommend returning to the center of Alcúdia and having dinner at one of its restaurants. La Fonda Llabrés is usually a popular spot for its themed dinners. Another option is to visit Bistro 19009, where you can enjoy a high-quality Mediterranean dish.
- Alcúdia Night Market: Getting to the Alcúdia Night Market is very easy because it’s located in the center. You’ll find a lively area there.
- Nightclubs: To end the day, you can visit one of the nightclubs. It’s located in the port of Alcúdia. There are different options to choose from; you’re sure to find the one that best suits your needs.
