Discover Mallorca in 2 days: The perfect weekend plan

Mallorca is a beautiful island that can be seen in a weekend, although it’s true that if you can enjoy more days, it’s an island worth exploring in a longer time. But if you only have two days to see Mallorca, you’ve come to the right place. Throughout this simple guide, we’ll show you the places you can see in a weekend in Mallorca. This way, you can get the most out of your vacation.

What to see in Mallorca on the first day

If you’re looking for what to see in Palma de Mallorca this weekend, this tour will be really useful. You’ll be able to make the most of both days, which means you’ll see the most important parts of the island.

Day 1 in Palma de Mallorca

We’ll use the first morning of our route on what to see in Palma de Mallorca in two days to see the most important sights in the city. We recommend having everything well organized to make the most of your time on the island.

One of the must-sees in the island’s capital is undoubtedly the Palma de Mallorca Cathedral, one of the most beautiful places on the island, so it’s going to be our first stop. This cathedral is not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. Take advantage of your visit and go inside to enjoy the Gothic building. Many things inside will catch your eye, but the stained-glass windows are sure to captivate you.

Taking advantage of our visit to the cathedral, we will make the second stop at the Almudaina Palace and the seafront promenade, both very close to the cathedral. In the Almudaina Palace, you will discover a 14th-century royal fortress and the current official residence of Their Majesties the King and Queen during their stays in Mallorca. To enjoy idyllic views of both the cathedral and the palace, we recommend taking a walk along the beautiful seafront promenade. Stop at one of the terraces along the seafront to enjoy the views a little more.

If you’ve followed our recommendations, it’s time to recharge your batteries and enjoy the local cuisine. A good option is to visit the Santa Catalina Market. You’ll not only find local products, but also bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the island’s cuisine. Among other things, you can enjoy pa amb oli or ensaimada.

We’re going to take advantage of the afternoon to enjoy a bit of the island’s culture. We decided to take a stroll through the La Lonja neighborhood, a very pretty neighborhood where you can relax. Its narrow streets are well-known, as is its bohemian atmosphere. In the neighborhood, you’ll find many places to have a drink and art galleries. If you have some time, we recommend visiting the Sa Llotja building, the most emblematic building in this neighborhood. We’ll leave you with more information so you can enjoy a visit to Sa Llotja.

Another interesting option is the Museo de Mallorca. It’s located in the old town, and you can learn a lot about the island’s past. It’s truly interesting; don’t miss the opportunity to visit it.

If you still have some energy left, Palma de Mallorca’s nightlife is full of life. We’ve left you a couple of ideas, but there are many other options to choose from.

  • Dinner: You can have dinner in the center of Mallorca, where you can enjoy a wide variety of restaurants. You can walk through the Santa Catalina neighborhood or Paseo del Borne, and you’ll find a wide variety of options to choose from.
  • Party: Nightlife is important in Mallorca, especially on a Saturday. If the weather is nice, you can sit on a terrace in the city center and then head to a musical event or even a nightclub if you wish. The variety of options is vast.

What to see in Mallorca on the second day

On our second day on the island, we decided to enjoy the wonderful beaches the island has to offer. We chose these two beaches:

Mallorca in two days: Torrent de Pareis and Sa Calobra | Cuevas del Hams

  • Cala de Sa Calobra: If you’re looking for a beautiful cove, I recommend visiting this one. You’re sure to fall in love with it, both for the crystal-clear water and the surrounding landscape.
  • Torrent de Pareis: This is another cove close to the previous one. It stands out for being a canyon that opens onto the beach. You have to walk to reach it, but it’s worth it for the scenery.

When you arrive at midday, we recommend that you take advantage of the fact that you’re in the Sa Calobra area and find a good restaurant in the area. There are many options to choose from. In this case, I recommend sitting by the sea and enjoying the seafood. This way, you’ll get the most out of Mallorca this weekend.

Now, we’ll show you two more stops before ending your weekend in Mallorca.

  • Valldemossa: stands out for being one of the most beautiful towns on the island. Its cobblestone streets, stone houses, and peaceful atmosphere will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Visit the Cartuja de Valldemossa, a former monastery where Chopin and George Sand spent a winter.
  • Deia: It’s close to the previous town and you’ll fall in love with it all over again. It has a great artistic atmosphere, although what will most catch your eye are the views. It’s a perfect town for walking and getting lost in its streets.

And if your plane doesn’t leave until late, it might be a good idea to end your weekend vacation in one of the restaurants in the old town. You’ll find yourself wanting to enjoy the island again.
