ToggleIn addition, you can take part in countless excursions and activities throughout the island, so if, like us, you have limited time, we recommend planning your trip.
Day 1: Discovering Palma de Mallorca
We begin our adventure by visiting the majestic Palma Cathedral, also known as La Seu. If you pass by, you won’t be able to miss its impressive Gothic architecture and its seafront location. Next, we immerse ourselves in the charm of the old town, strolling through its narrow cobblestone streets and discovering its charming towns such as Santa Catalina and La Lonja.
Day 2: Beaches, Coves, and Natural Landscapes
On our second day of the route, we dedicated the day to relaxing on the best beaches in Mallorca. From popular ones like Playa de Palma or Cala Mayor, to more hidden ones like Cala Pi or Cala Varques, each one offers its own unique beauty and atmosphere. Plus, don’t miss the opportunity to explore Mallorca’s impressive caves, such as the Hams Caves.
Day 3: Excursion to Cap de Formentor and Valldemossa
On our last day of the route, we decided to take an excursion to Cap de Formentor, located at the northern tip of the island. We fell in love with its cliffs and incredible views, so we definitely recommend making it a stop on your trip. Afterwards, we got back in the car and visited Valldemossa, a charming village in the Tramuntana Mountains. Wander its cobblestone streets, visit the famous monastery, and sample the local culinary delights.

What to see in Mallorca in 3 days: Additional recommendations
If you have more days on the island or want to enjoy it in a different way, we have other recommendations to help you get the most out of your trip.
Discovering the beautiful island of Mallorca
Mallorca, known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean, offers much more than its stunning beaches. You can’t miss the opportunity to visit the impressive Sierra de Tramuntana, a World Heritage Site, where you’ll find spectacular landscapes and charming villages. You can take advantage of your trip to Valldemossa to discover other villages, although this is undoubtedly the most beautiful.
Immerse yourself in Mallorca’s cultural richness by visiting museums and marveling at its historic architecture. Palma de Mallorca is home to numerous museums, such as the Es Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art, which exhibits works by local and international artists.
Cultural Experiences: Museums and Historic Architecture
In addition to museums, Mallorca offers you the opportunity to explore its historical heritage through its architecture. Stroll through the cobblestone streets of charming villages and admire the stately homes and ancient fortresses. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Bellver Castle, a Gothic fortress located on a hill that offers stunning views of Palma.
If you’re a history buff, visit the ancient Roman city of Pollentia in Alcudia, where you can explore the ruins and immerse yourself in the island’s past. Don’t forget to visit the many local markets, where you can experience authentic Mallorcan culture and sample local delicacies like the famous ensaimadas and sobrasada.
Local Gastronomy: Traditional Flavors and Balearic Delicacies
Mallorcan cuisine is another reason to visit the island. Try traditional dishes like tumbet, a delicious mix of roasted eggplant, potatoes, and peppers, or frito mallorquín, made with pork and vegetables. Don’t forget to taste the famous Mahón cheese and local wines, which will delight your palate.
Also, be sure to try the famous ensaimadas, a typical Mallorcan dessert, and Menorcan gin, a traditional drink that has become very popular on the island. Treat yourself to a culinary delight and enjoy authentic Mallorcan cuisine during your stay on the island.
Practical information for your trip to Mallorca
How to get there and get around the island
Mallorca has an international airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, from where you can take direct flights from various cities in Spain and Europe. Once on the island, you have several options for getting around. Public transportation in Mallorca is efficient and has an extensive bus network connecting the different tourist areas. You can also rent a car to have greater freedom of movement and explore at your own pace.
Best time to visit Mallorca
Mallorca offers a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The best time to visit the island, in our opinion, to avoid overheating, is during spring (April-May-June) and autumn (September-October), when temperatures are pleasant and there are fewer tourists. However, if you prefer to enjoy the sun and sea, July and August are ideal, although there may be more crowds on the beaches and tourist spots.
Accommodation on the Island
Mallorca offers a wide range of accommodations for all tastes and budgets. In the capital, Palma de Mallorca, you’ll find luxury hotels, tourist apartments, and hostels. In the coastal and rural areas, there are boutique hotels, country houses, and villas. You can also choose to stay in traditional Mallorcan fincas for a more authentic experience. It’s advisable to book in advance, especially during high season.
